About the Farm
A generation of farmers in the US and Canada will be retiring in the next couple of decades and only a fraction of them have successors who want to take over their farms. Yet there are many young people who want to farm but did not grow up on farms.
This is our story of an older land owner connecting with a couple of young farmers to create both a market garden and a timber investment, and make everyone’s dreams come true. We will also share resources in case this idea intrigues you and you think you might want to try it.
As a free subscriber you have access to all posts and archives, plus the opportunity to join the community and post comments. If you decide to become a paid subscriber, you will also have access to occasional Q&A sessions with the farmers, and the chance to answer interview questions about your farm, garden or agricultural venture and be part of one of the weekly About the Farm posts. Plus, as you hear more of the story and see photos of the farm, you’ll know that you helped buy the seeds that are now growing :) Thanks so much for your interest in About the Farm!—Eli
