What an adventure! I was right with you as you were having anxiety about finding the place in the dark night on narrow country roads and so relieved that you found your destination. I love the photos too!
That is the kind of adventure that you will look back on as one that started out really iffy, and the experience of driving in the rain in the dark with no GPS in the boonies will make you grateful. Think of that experience! Oh, and next time, remember to never leave home without a good flashlight lol!!!
We were on one of the bikes in that same situation, and have been in snow, rain, wind blowing us sideways that kept shifting, all excellent adventures that takes a long time to appreciate that you made it through.
We even broke down on a trip and I used my wife's scrunchy (that held her hair) to fix the bike to finish the ride home!!!

So glad you enjoyed the chapter James -- and yes, those memories will last forever. I remember being at the top of a cliff, setting up a rappel, with wind howling, blowing our ropes sideways, and rain starting. My climbing partner and I were going to be rapelling with another climbing pair, and as he fed out the rope, one of the other guys grinned, took a deep breath, and declared, "I LOVE bad weather!" It totally changed our outlook! It became an adventure :) (and of course, we made it down just fine.)
