I really hope this encourages many many good hearted people to look very deeply into what is behind this entire protection racket.

I do hope the word spreads!

Well, that’s not so bad after all! If they can use the land, as if it’s theirs, then what is the downside? If it is only that they technically don’t actually “own” it, then no problems! It would obviously also mean that they can’t sell it either, but they weren’t gonna do that anyway!

True Rosie -- we are figuring it out so that we are getting what we want. It has been annoying and required lots of phone calls and understanding technical maps, and some extra expenditures, but in the end you are right, not really a down side.

I'm glad there seems to be a resolution, even if it will take some time and trouble to implement. And even though your advice to look twice before you leap is well founded, the truth is we can never foresee every eventuality. We do the best we can with the info we have. You know this land will be stewarded well, however this unfolds.

Wisely said, Jenn. :)

Thank you for this insight that will help others down the road, Eli. Wisdom comes at a price. (And often, in the U.S., a literal price tag!)

Ha -- very true! But once we've got that wisdom, it lasts.
